Project Theme– Science and Technology

Project title– Innovative Street Lamp with Umbrella canopy // Innovative Stree Light with rain sensing umberlla // Smart Street Light with Umbrella for pedestrain

Introduction – Umbrellas are portable devices that can protect people from rain and sunlight. They are made of a circular fabric or plastic screen stretched over hinged ribs that radiate from a central pole. Umberlla can be used for sun protection , rain protection and for other out door events. Umbrella is an important accessory that can enhance our daily life in many ways.

Problem -Rain, especially heavy rain, can make it difficult for pedestrians to move across the lonely roads.

Solution – I am going to give the idea of street lamp fitted with an umbrella canopy and a built-in electric motor which can open or close the umbrella on demand. Umbrella is deployed to offer pedestrians shelter during heavy rain.

Material Needed– Material Needed- IR sensor ,Microcontroller , Arduino Uno, Rain Sensor, Buzzer, Buttons & Switches, Electrical & Wirings, PCB Board, LED, Battery, Plastic Cover, cables and Connectors, Screws and Fittings, metallic wires , bag, hardware software , plastic pipes, LED bulb , solar panel , motion sensor

Construction – First of all take a plywood piece and cover it with a chart to make the base of the model. Take a plastic pipe and fit the Solar panel and LED bulb on its top. Attach an umbrella in the middle of the the pole. Integrate all hardware software components on it to make innovative street lamp with umbrella canopy.

Working- I have provided a switch to open and close the umbrella manually by the pedestrian during rain. In addition to the rain sensor and IR sensor, there’s also a 360 degree motion sensor on the street lamp which detects whether anyone is using the lamp Umbrella to hide from the rain after four minutes of not being used the canopy is closed.

Cost effectiveness – The price of Innovative Street Lamp with Umbrella canopy is also not very high. It is affordable

Utility – My proposed model is suitable for both hot and rainy places. This technology is especially useful in making smart roads and smart cities.

Conclusion – My proposed model is a unique gadget that changes the way street light is used. Innovative pole with Umbrella canopy is helpful in protecting pedestrain from the rain and sun for any outdoor activities .
